Progress update

After the site visit on 30th April - where short, improvised performances took place - these initial ideas have been developed into a more structured analytical mapping. For example; the obstacle in the way - a person on the floor in a public space - being an obstacle - how are the passers-by going to react? How does this affect the journey of the occupier (and the obstacle?) through the space? These issues were discussed and put into simple scenarios - choreographies.

After these body-in-space mappings, the next natural stage is to start application of choreography in a range of spaces - to analyse and observe, compare and record. Thereafter, drawing up the circulation, routes and other relevant data from these experiments. These will be developed into a final drawings/visuals and placed on site at the Gallery.

7th May - Presentations of the refined ideas from the 1-2 min performances (at the Gallery visit 30th April) took place. Examples and feedback/lecture.

Experiments are now taking place - these will be developed into drawings, diagrams and spatial context next week.
